There is in fact a large literature on remakes One of my essays, Raiders of
the Lost Text, appeared in a past Journal of the Popular Film and Television,
and was later republished in a book which was probly called REMAKE IT AGAIN
SAM My essay has a lot of the earlier literature it was actually a quite
hot subject in film studies im rather preoccupied with a lot of other stuff
right now, so if you can't find the original essay on spielberg through the
web or whereever let me know in a day or so

Again original was called RAIDERS OF THE LOST TEXT and the journal is
Journal of Popular Film and TV outof HELDREF publications in washington DC
best hrg md endit

PS You can also try posting if they will let you on SCREEN-L which is a film
scholar's list. Come to think of it, maybe I will do this for you if I get a
moment. HRG MD ENDIT
