Here's a few....The Maltese Falcon , His Girl Friday, Thieves Like Us, The
second film version of "1984", Bunuel's version of "Wuthering Heights", (And
if Warhol's "Vinyl" counts, I'd add A Clockwork Orange... ), The Thin Red
Line, King of Kings,

..of course these are mostly literary adaptations....
