There's a very nice book --

The St. James women filmmakers encyclopedia : women on the other side of
the camera / edited by Amy L. Unterburger ; foreword by Gwendolyn Audrey
Foster.

Also, I have a database of films about women with titles from over 500
women directors, countries, synops, etc., if he wants a specialized list,
he could email me privately  -- there's a lot of great foreign directors
who aren't written about much --
