Does anyone know if there are any writings in English on Bhappi Sonie's _Brahmachari_. I watched it last night and found that, until the last fifteen minutes where it degenerated to an update of Perils of Pauline-style melodrama that it was similar to, and often more interesting than, the 1950s-1960s America melodramas (Charles Vidor, Douglas Sirk, et al.) screened so often in the film courses I took. The subtitles were often impossible to read, though. I can't imagine a DVD version with new subtitles any time soon.
