Faculty Position in Television Studies/History of Broadcasting

The University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio-Television-film seeks
to fill a tenured or tenure-track position, beginning fall 2002, in
television studies and/or the cultural history of broadcasting. While
preference will be given to senior scholars, applicants from all ranks will
be considered. A Ph.D. in media studies or a related field is preferred,
along with a strong record in publishing and teaching, and experience
working with advanced graduate and undergraduate students. Salary/rank
commensurate with experience. We will begin reviewing applications on
December 15 and will continue until the position is filled.

The Department of Radio-Television-Film has 22 permanent faculty,
approximately 900 undergraduate majors and 150 graduate students pursuing
Ph.D., M.A., or M.F.A. degrees. RTF offers courses in film & television
studies, international communication, telecommunication technology and
policy, gender and sexuality, race and ethnic issues in communication, film
and video production, screenwriting, and convergent media research and
