Has anyone else out there seen Shelley Niro's 1998, 47-min. film _Honey
Mocassin_? If so--what are your thoughts on its working through of
stereotypical representations of Native Americans? Or just your
thoughts
on its representation of Native American experience in the 1990s? And
your
thoughts on its representation of the effeminate character "Zach"?

Does anyone know of any reviews and/or critical articles on the film?
My
database search doesn't bring up anything on that film. This surprises
me a
little bit, since the film won some awards and was shown at Sundance.
It
seems that Shelley Niro is more often discussed as a photographer and
installation artist than a filmmaker.

Any leads and/or info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Susan Crutchfield
