MA in Film and Visual Cultures

Located in London, the MA Film and Visual Cultures at Middlesex University
is a unique programme for studying the relationships between a range of
media including film, TV, video, art, photography, design, architecture,
space and the digital.

The MA in Film and Visual Cultures at Middlesex University combines the
study of film and new media with the broader field of visual culture. Based
on our innovative work in Visual and Spatial Culture, the programme
challenges the traditional orthodoxies of Film Studies and Art History by
investigating an expanding and complex range of media. Our intertextual
approach to studying the relationships between diverse forms of cultural
practice, and their production, distribution, and consumption is led by a
high-profile staff of scholars, researchers, practitioners and augmented by
distinguished visiting professors. This MA is ideal for students seeking an
historical and theoretical programme, and equally suitable for those who
want to explore these issues in relation to their own practice. The degree
