Dear Amaresh
I agree with your view on teaching film direction more innovatively, not
only using continuity system. I believe the euro-american scholars of
Hollywood cinema have made continuity system a law for directing films and
also for teaching film direction. We certainly need to break this
conservative idea promoting 'unlawful' practices of film-making available
around the world. We use some of these in Film Studies departments in La
Trobe and Monash Universities in Melbourne. If you're interested I will be
able to pass you more on this matter.
