Which, with reference to the thread on ratios, was Lang's only film in

Cinemascope (although the opening credits of BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT on

some prints - even 1:1.33 ones - says that it is 'presented in RKO-scope',

whatever that is supposed to be).  The experience of shooting MOONFLEET is

supposed to have caused Lang to remark that the ratio was useless and only

appropriate for filming snakes and funerals, though this is a Lotte Eisner

recollection which, to my knowledge, does not crop up elsewhere.  I think

the scope compositions are quite good, if a little stage-bound (but,

compared to THE ROBE, the camera is positively fluid).
