Does anyone know of any work done, in English, on the film "Salt For
Svanetia" [Sol Svanetii, USSR, 1930), directed by Mikhail Kalatozov? I'm
writing about it for a grad seminar on early Soviet Cinema and am having
trouble finding anything about it or its director's early career. Of
course, Kalatozov did go on and make imortant films in the late fifties
and sixties, but there isn't much about his work before that period in any
of the resources I've looked at.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
