For starters, re SciFi films, try the following:
original "Thing" (51)--female lead is assistant/secretary to main
scientist; in Carpenter's remake, there are no women--anomalously for
the time, 1982--(except a chess computer voice) at the polar
station	"Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" (54)--woman is assistant to
palentologist
"Them" (54)--science team is a father/daughter, both full scientists
"Invaders from Mars" (53)--The person who first believes the boy is
the school nurse/psychologist?
There is a neat British film in which the main scientist is a woman
and mathematician: "Spaceways" (53)

Two later films: "Colossus: The Forbin Project" (70) and "The Andromeda
Strain" (71).

If you want to see things at their absolute worst, try "Project
Moonbase) (53).
