The 1991 British Film Institute Summer Conference is titled
"Borderlines:  Films in Europe."  It will be held 27 July-3 August 1991
at the University of Sterling, Scotland.
 
The role and status of cinema in the new Europe will be considered in
numerous events, festivals and conferences over the next two years.  The
1991 BFI conference will initiate programs of work by drawing together
films, arguments and ideas from past and present designed to clarify the
consequences of European transformations for cinematic production and
study.
