One must also bring to mind the film propoganda of the late forties,
early fifties when so many movies made communists the bad guys. Films
like I MARRIED A COMMUNIST, et al. Plus the HUAC hearings which very
nearly destroyed the film industry. As well as blatant proganda films
during the war. I don't expect that degree of extremism, but something
similar is quite possible.
