Less a cameo than a small part: Asta in The Thin Man series. Also kind of a
big part would be George the dog in Bringing Up Baby.

Best example: the kitten that Eleanor Parker finds in the exercise yard in
Caged. All the inmates take care of it and watch it drink milk from a tin.
It finally gets killed in the cellblock riot (also see the exact same plot
element in Wendy O. Williams' Reform School Girls).

INTERESTING SUB-CATEGORY:
Homophobic stereotypes accomplished via animal cameos.

Emery's french poodle in the opening sequence of The Boys in the Band.

Gay man with a pink poodle who comes across a naked policeman chained to a
tree (Tim McIntyre) in The Choirboys (see p90 of the Celluloid Closet for a
photo).

All the best,

Jenni Olson
