Millenium tension

It crossed my mind that "cyber-critic" Mark Dery has written on
millenialism, in relation to films "Batman" and "Blade Runnner". He
disucusses the aesthetics of industrial/machine age showing up as "ghosts"
in information age surroundings.

He has propably published the text in the States, but I don't know where.
Last fall he gave a presentation on these topics in Helsinki - the text
has been published here in Finnish, so it propably won't be of too much
use for you... (I do have the English draft - or at least I think I have -
but referring to texts not printed isn't the best option)

In"Escape Velocity" there might be something interesting (I don't
have the book at hand at the moment). The best thing to do would be to
contact Dery in person. His e-mail is <[log in to unmask]>.

Northern Greetings,

Susanna
