AUSTIN HEART OF FILM FESTIVAL
Independent Feature Film/Screenplay Competition
 
FESTIVAL DATES: October 5-8, 1995 / PLACE: Austin, TX
 
FILM BUDGET CATEGORIES: <$50,000 / $50,000 - $1,000,000 / > $1,000,000
 
ENTRY FEE: $35
 
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be feature length narrative film.
Documentaries and shorts are ineligible for the competition
but may be submitted for festival screening ($10 entry fee).
Films must be available for the festival in 16mm or 35mm "composite"
condition with an optical soundtrack, titles included
Films originally shot on video will only be accepted if a 16mm or
35mm print is available for screening at the
Festival.
Entries must be postmarked by AUGUST 15, 1995.
Films must have been completed no earlier than June 1, 1994.
Films produced, financed or initiated by major film studios are
ineligible for competition.
Entries should not be in theatrical release in the U.S. but they may
have a distributor.
 
JUDGING: The AHFF jury will select the winners by judging the film
in conjunction with the screenplay.
 
AWARD: Best Screenplay of a Produced Film Award will be given in each
of the three categories.  A credited screenwriter from each of the
winning films will be invited to attend the AHFF as a guest of the
festival.  The AHFF reserves the right to deny any award if there are
no qualified recipients found during the selection process.
 
Submission for the film competition requires a signed application, a
VHS copy of your film, a copy of the shooting script, bio of the
screenwriter(s), and any available press information. The VHS copy
and the screenplay will not be returned.  If selected, a copy of the
budget may be required.  Entry fee is $35 per entry
(cash or money order only).
