There is no shock only disgust. I have no objection to the studios doing a
special of say AMERICA"S FAVORITE FILMS. The problem is that the AFI is
public entity which is supposed to support films and it DOES NOT. Their
support of this project while screwing both film preservation and film
programming is the problem. The list is exactly what one would expect of
the industry and to dress it up as picked by "historians & film scholars"
is a lie. Lastly DO NOT PLAY THE AFI's game of what should or should not
have been on the list. It was from start to finish a fixed list to promote
studio videos and discussing titles only lends it legitimacy.
