The Auburn University Department of Communication seeks the following
positions.  These nine-month appointments begin 8/16/2000.

1. Instructor in Public Relations/Mass Communication.  Teach Introduction
to Public Relations, Electronic Field Production, Radio Production,
Multimedia Production, Public Relations Case Studies, Broadcast
Newswriting, Public Relations Writing and Research, Public Relations Style
and Design, and/or other relevant courses in Public Relations/Mass
Communication.

2. Part-Time Instructor in Mass Communication.  Teach Electronic Field
Production, Multimedia Production, and/or other relevant production related
courses.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in relevant areas; teaching and/or
professional experience in field required.  Successful candidates will also
have experience teaching at least four of our high demand courses,
especially: Introduction to Public Relations, Public Speaking,
Organizational Communication, Persuasive Speaking, Nonverbal Communication,
Survey Research, Broadcast Newswriting, Production Courses (Field
Production, Radio Production, Multimedia Production, Television
Production), Public Relations Writing and Research, and Public Relations
Campaigns.

graduate work, three letters of reference, and evidence of teaching
effectiveness to: Dr.  Mary Helen Brown; Chair; Department of
Communication; 217 Tichenor Hall; Auburn University, AL 36849.  The search
committee will begin reviewing applications July 24, 2000, and continue
until a candidate is selected and recommended for appointment.
