Most of the computer-controlled programs for video editing are
not worth the software they're stored on.
 
The best computer based programs I've seen run between 30-50k...
the rest of them don't give real-time playback features and
quality is a joke.
 
The VideoToaster is worth looking at....about 25K with editing
machines/controller.  It's major drawback is it's still
a linear system.
