A common narrative device used in film (and other art forms) is an event
that assembles all the protagonists together (weddings, parties,
conferences, funerals, cruises, flights, sports matches, etc). Its a common
trope used to assemble characters in the same space in order to introduce an
inciting incident. My question is, has there much analysis of this
particular device, and does it even have a name? Any advice is appreciated.
