For anyone planning to attend the Society for Cinema Studies Conference in
Syracuse from March 3-6, I have recently found out that on-site child care
has been set up by the coordinators.

Since child care has been a problem at SCS conferences in the past, this is
really good news for those of us with small children. They have arranged for a
room at the University Sheraton (the conference site), and will have trained
child care personnel there from 8 am to 10 pm. I believe there will be an hourly
fee, but that amount had not yet been determined (I imagine it depends upon how
many children, and how many workers are needed).

Please spread the word about this. I imagine it would be a good idea for anyone
planning to bring a child who needed to care to contact Sally Brackett at
Syracuse University (315/443-1408) and let them know.

I hope that if this system works well, it will become a model for future
conference planning.

Pam
