  Dear Colleagues:

New Media and the Institution

The University of Colorado at Boulder is trying to design a home for New
Media Studies in some comprehensive way and for the first time, and has
formed the Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Exploratory
Committee. As an interested scholar at CU I would like to invite you to
participate in a blog devoted to a White Paper on the subject of
establishing New Media Studies in academic institutions. The blog is an
attempt to crowd-source this task, a fairly unusual proceeding in the
Humanities. The blog will be used by the campus task force assigned the
task of designing a formal unit for Communication, Journalism, and New
Technology studies, of which New Media Studies may be a part.

At the end of this process, the most interesting conversations will be
published in a new online critical studies journal.

  Using the site is easy:
1. Go to the website -- http://www.dighuman.com/ -- and register.
2. Using the password you have been emailed, log into the site.
(Change your password now if you wish.)
3. Navigate back to http://www.dighuman.com/ and begin participating.

Please email me with any questions at
