*ANOMALY: A Documentary Film about Multiracial Identity
Now Available on DVD*

----------------------------------------------------------

TWN is proud to release Jessica Chen Drammeh's ANOMALY, a documentary film
about multiracial identity in the United States.

ANOMALY is an award-winning documentary film that provides a
thought-provoking look at multiracial identity by combining personal
narratives with the larger drama of mixed race in American culture. The
characters use spoken word and music to tell their stories of navigating
identity, family and community in a changing world. Community leaders and
academic experts contextualize the issues. As it unfolds, ANOMALY tells a
story that is deeply personal, yet broadly American.

Winner of the Local Filmmaker Award at the Langston Hughes African American
Film Festival, ANOMALY interweaves the thoughts and experiences of the
participants with the director's narration, creating a rich tapestry of
mixed dynamics. Unlike prior works on mixed race issues that focused on one
ethnic mix, ANOMALY is truly multiracial. Our participants come from many
diverse backgrounds and multiple generations.

ANOMALY features the work of singer and songwriter Gabriella Callender,
spoken word artist Michelle Myers, musician and poet Pete Shungu and spoken
word artist and poet Thaddeus Rutkowski. The film also includes interviews
with community experts and scholars Eric Hamako, Jen Chau, Prof. Michele
Elam, Prof. Ann Morning, and Prof. Jennifer Chan.
