DOCUMENTARY BOX

DOCUMENTARY BOX, the newsletter of the Yamagata International Documentary
Film Festival, is looking for individuals who can write on recent developments

in national documentary cinemas. DOCUMENTARY BOX is published in English and
Japanese and is distributed world-wide to individuals and institutions
interested in documentary cinema. The pieces we publish are directed at a
general, non-scholary but educated audience. They tend to be short (less than

ten pages, double spaced) and are paid for.

DOCUMENTARY BOX has so far published articles introducing the documentary
cinemas of such nations as China, France, England, Korea and Japan, but we are
interested in publishing other pieces addressing recent developments in
nations or regions we have not covered so far. This includes, in particular,
Africa, Eastern Europe, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North
America, but we always looking for any article discussing new developments
in world documentary cinema.

THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR PAPERS. Right now we are only interested in gathering
the names of individuals who are capable of writing such articles so that we
can plan our future issues. If you are interested, or know of someone who is,

please send your name, address, phone number (fax number), and e-mail address
to us by either e-mail, fax, or regular mail. If possible, please also send a
 one-
page summary of your qualifications and what you would be interested in
writing on.
