"The Permanence and Care of Color Photographs" is a terrific book.  The
photographer here at the Institute of Fine Arts tells me it is the best
compilation of information about color films and photographs she has ever
seen.
 
No, I don't work for Preservation Publishing.  Just wanted to add my
2-cents-worth about a great reference work!
