there was a NEXT GENERATION star trek episode  in which Commander Will Riker
is being held prisoner and subjected to brainwashing techniques which keep
returning him to an actual performance of a play he participated in on the
Enterprise in which he played a political prisoner being brain washed etc
probly available on videotape by now
