Dear Colleagues,

I’m pleased to share some information about the next edition of the
peer-reviewed journal, *Short Film Studies. *For Issue 12.2*, *in addition
to an ongoing open Call for Papers that welcomes submissions that reflect
your critical and scholarly interests about short films and media, essays
are invited that focus on the issue's featured auteur Janicza Bravo, whose
filmography includes: *Eat *(2011), *Gregory Go Boom* (2013), *Pauline
Alone* (2014), *Man Rots from the Head *(2016), and *Hard World for Small
Things *(2016). The featured short for 12.2 is the award-winning *Exam/*
*Emtehan* (2019, Iran), directed and co-written by Sonia K. Hadad. A link

under the “Submissions Guidelines” tab (where you’ll also find  the issue’s
full Call for Papers and a list of potential topic areas).

Please send a brief, 50- to 75-word abstract and a brief biographical

Deadline for full submissions: 1 May 2022
Length of manuscripts: 1500 to 3000 words
