Ms. Kaplan,
   With regard to your question about docudramas, the Academy of
Television Arts & Sciences held a major conference on this topic in 1976
or 1977, bringing together historians, producers and TV critics to
discuss the pros and cons. The academy later published a lengthy
transcript in its magazine called Emmy.
   You might be able to find the issue through the library, or perhaps
the Academy still has some around. Their phone number in North Hollywood
is 818-754-2800.
