I used to think there was no such thing as an out and out "dumb" film,
that is, until I saw ROBOCOP 3 and realized this stuff is dumb dumb and
dumb--when we say a film is "dumb" then, I take it to mean the film's
dialogue, plot, action--all of it, is pointless, frivolous, not even
worth making fun of, no entertainment value whatsoever--for instance, NO
RETREAT NO SURRENDER was a really bad film, but its "badness" made it fun
as hell to watch because you were able to laugh at its attempt to be a
serious action flic, it therefore wasn't dumb because its dumbness had value
 
I can't believe I just reified dumbness!
