The cutoff between tapes with and tapes without subtitles in the midwest
market is about 1986-88.  That means that many of the Amitabh Bachchan
classics are available with subtitles--the last one I can recall was INQUILAAB
which was an Esquire release.  If you have money and contacts, I'm told that
the Indian development agency for film _only_ handles subtitled prints.
They'll be on PAL format, but that's not as much of a problem today with
inexpensive multisystem machines as it used to be.
