Not really what you're asking for, I know, but Jose Iturbi appears as
himself in a number of films, including ANCHORS AWEIGH and MUSIC FOR
MILLIONS.
 
If you're including pop songwriters, Hoagie Carmichael (THE BEST YEARS
OF OUR LIVES, TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT, etc.) plays characters within some
of the films he contributed music to.  And then there's David Bowie!
