Regarding the title of Eric Schaefer's Dissertation on exploitation films
(responding to Ulf Dalquist's query of my earlier reply), it is "'Bold!
Daring! Shocking! True!': A History of Exploitation Films 1919-1959." UMI
is University Microfilms International, the firm that publishes U.S. (and I
guess other) dissertations. Dissertations can be purchased on microfilm or
paper. Their address is 300 North Zeeb Rd, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48106 USA.
I apologize for my U.S.-centricism in assuming all readers of the list would
recognize "UMI." Cordially, Janet
