A film just making festival rounds now, which will get commercial
distribution later in the fall, has adoption as one of its central
plot elements. "Welcome to Sarajevo" follows the international tribe
of TV journalists covering the siege, and focuses particularly on the
crusade of one of the journalists to keep an orphanage in the news
long enough to have some attempt made to rescue the children. It's
well worth seeing.
