Position Announcement - Beginning September 1, 2003

TUFTS UNIVERSITY/SCHOOL OF THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS
Full Time Lecturer in Film Studies. 2 yr. contract, renewable.
A Tufts University Appointment to teach in the Department of
Visual and Critical Studies at the Museum School. 4 courses/yr.
(2/2) and participation in committee work. Ph.D./ABD or equivalent.
College-level teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment
to scholarship required. Salary and benefits competitive; sabbatical
leaves after regular performance reviews. Ability to cover a
broad range of cinematic genres and current theoretical approaches
to film studies. Expertise in any of the following desireable:
history of video, experimental film, performance art, contemporary
critical theory. To teach introduction to film analysis and a
rotation of upper level undergraduate courses to BFA students
including filmmakers and video artists. Tufts University is an
