Background:
In 1998 the Department will be offering a Bachelor of Media Studies

and information industries where they will be employed. After a common
first year, students will be able to focus their work in the areas of
journalism, video production, or radio/audio production. The Department is
actively involved in the use and study of the new media and students in
the
new degree will develop an understanding of, and skills in this area.

strand of the new Bachelor of Media Studies degree. The appointee will
have
a university degree and active involvement as a professional writer. In
addition s/he will supervise student research and writing projects, and be
involved in research and writing. Given the Department's interest in the
new media and the implications of the new media for journalism and
journalists, applicants with a demonstrated interest in these areas will
be welcome.

2- Associate Lecturer in Media Studies
An Associate Lecturer is required to provide tutorial support for a range
of undergraduate subjects in the Department of Media Studies covering
areas such as audience studies, textual analysis, and media industries.
