post-production.

Francisco Riguera died before Orson Welles could complete his version of
DON QUIXOTE with Riguera in the title role.  Welles himself died while
he was doing a voice role for TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE.

Brandon Lee died while filming THE CROW.  His father, Bruce Lee, died
while his last feature(s) GAME OF DEATH and GAME OF DEATH II were still
being put together.

Possibly the most bizarre example is the death of Bela Lugosi during the
filming of PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, who was then replaced by Ed Wood's
wife's chiropractor.

Sergei Eisenstein died before IVAN THE TERRIBLE III could be completed.

FW Murnau died in an accident not long after completing TABU.

Mai Zetterling died while filming THE WOMAN WHO CLEANED THE WORLD

Tarkovsky died of cancer soon after completing THE SACRIFICE

Fassbinder died soon after completing QUERELLE.

Silent film star Henry Walthall died while filming CHINA CLIPPER.

James Dean died just after the filming of GIANT.

Marilyn Monroe committed suicide while filming SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE.

Richard Harris died between HARRY POTTER episodes.

Oliver Reed during during the film of GLADIATOR.

Clark Gable died shortly after making THE MISFITS.

John Candy died while filming WAGONS EAST!

Frank (the Wizard of Oz) Morgan died while filming ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.

Lionel Atwill died while filming the serial LOST CITY OF THE JUNGLE.

An infamous example is the accidental death of Vic Morrow during the
filming of TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE.

Gloria Foster, the original Oracle of THE MATRIX, died during the film
of THE MATRIX RELOADED.

Nicholas Colasanto, best known as "Coach" on CHEERS, died while the TV
show was being filmed.

John Ritter recently passed away while starting a new season of 8 SIMPLE
RULES.

Nancy Marchand died while filming a new season of THE SOPRANOS.

Jack MacGowan, premier interpreter of Samuel Becket, died while filming
scenes for THE EXORCIST.

Yves Montand died while filming "L'isle aux pachyderms."

Tyrone Power died while filming SOLOMON AND SHEBA.


Enough already!  I'm getting depressed.
