  As far as I know there is no such job at a studio. Extremely successful
screenwriters often hire people to do the research for their stories, as will
set designers, costume designers...But the closest thing to this at a studio
would be the archivist who digs out old, unproduced scripts for consideration
by current studio adminstrators...
