A bit late going through these digests. Someone asked about carbon rods.
The Roxie Cinema in San Francisco is one of the few cinemas in the US still
using them. The image quality, especially for b&w films, is much richer than
today's xenon lamps. If you're a serious film fetishist, there is nothing
else comparable to seeing an old noir on the Roxie's projectors. It's
absolutely vibrant. For more info contact them through their website at
http://www. roxie.com
