Is my face red!

My test message to the Screen-L moderator (Amy Chu) was not supposed to be
broadcast to the entire list. A bit of a glimpse into what goes on behind
the scenes here at Screen-L Central . . .

This gives me the opportunity to draw your attention to some new Screen-L
features that have just been added. I just discovered them this evening and
am still testing them (as you've seen!), but you're hereby invited to join
me in the beta testing!

New Stuff:

1. Searchable Screen-L Archive.

We implemented this a couple of months back, but it's worth reminding folks
that they can search through all the past messages by going to:

http://bama.ua.edu/archives/screen-l.html

Since up-to-date msgs are posted here, this would also be good way to read
Screen-L without being subscribed to it.

2. Posting to Screen-L via a Web browser.

The test message you saw before (and this one now) were both submitted using
my Web browser instead of using e-mail. You can do this from the archive
page.

Hence, you could post to Screen-L without subscribing.

3. Subscription maintenance via a Web browser.

You may subscribe/unsubscribe and change your subscription options right
from this Web page.

This part I'm not so sure about. I think it may require some sort of
password and Screen-L subscribers don't have passwords. Gonna test this
some more right now!

That's it for now. Come join me as I wrestle with the new capabilities of
LISTSERV version 1.8d!
