I *think* the title of the Dennis Quaid film was *Come See the
Paradise* (or something similar). *The Wedding Banquet* is a
wonderful romantic comedy that depicts the sometimes hilarious,
sometimes painful, and sometimes poignant problems arising when an
Asian homosexual male living in America with his Anglo boyfriend
discovers his "traditional" parents are coming to visit. The film
deftly juggles all kinds of gender, multicultural, and ethnic issues,
maintaining a sense of humor without belittling them.
