A film which I haven't seen mentioned yet is _Jabberwokky_.  Directed by
Terry Gilliam or Terry Jones (can't remember offhand) and starring
Michael Palin.  Somewhat Pythonish humour.
 
I seem to remember a quote from someone (on the net, so it must be
true) that their professor (or some such well-qualified type) said
that _Jabberwokky_ was the most accurate depiction of Medieval life
that he had seen in film.
 
Then again, maybe I dreamed the whole thing...
