>The Media Studies Department of Queens College, CUNY is searching for up
to two faculty members at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in
tenure track positions to commence in September, 1998. The department
currently serves some 500 students who major in Media Studies. Queens
College is noted for its attractive campus facilities as well as an
exceptionally diverse faculty and student body. We are seeking qualified
individuals who have experience in the following areas:
>
>POSITION 1: Media Arts professional with demonstrated record of
achievement in television, video, film, or multimedia production. Ph.D.,
M.F.A, or equivalent experience required; teaching of undergraduate courses
in media history, theory, or criticism is highly desirable.
>POSITION 2: Media Industry Studies specialist with particular research
interests in two or more of the following areas: media law, regulation, and
policy; critical and historical approaches to information technology; media
theory. Applicants must have Ph.D. by time of appointment with teaching
experience and record or demonstrated potential of publishing excellence.
>POSITION 3: Media Industry Studies specialist with academic training and
professional experience in media marketing, advertising, or public
relations. Ability to teach economic/institutional analysis of te media
industries. Advance degree preferred.
>
>SALARY: Range:         Assistant Professor:  $29,931- $52, 210
>                       Associate Professor: $39,003- $62,394; based on qualifications/experience.
