I am seeking proposals for the following panel to be held at the SCMS
conference in Vancouver, March 2006:

Screen Shops: Shopping Channels, Department Store Cinema, and
Point-of-Purchase TV

This panel seeks papers exploring links between film, television and
shopping. Particular emphasis is placed on proposals addressing use of
screen technologies at the point-of-purchase or to promote direct
ordering. Papers on topics such as shopping channels (QVC, HSN, etc.),
film/TV in department stores, popcorn promos in theater trailers,
infomercials, and interactive television are welcome.

Please send 200-300 word proposals to Stephen Groening
([log in to unmask]),
