women and science

Hello,
I have a student who is working on a project about women scientists in
film.
She writes, "In general I want to look at the way in which female
scientists are portrayed in film. More specifically I would like to look
at cult films, especially Sci-Fi-ish films where the plot revolves
around laboratories(think mad scientists and creations run amuck...).
Possibly even widening my focus from female scientists to how women are
portrayed in such films in relation to science: are they the one's being
experimented on, are they the half-clothed laboratory aids, are they
ever the mad scientist?, etc."
She would be grateful for any suggestions for relevant films and/or
articles/books that might be useful.
Thanks very much,
