The following jobs have come to our attention since the SCS job list
was posted. We are thus forwarding them to the membership and others
interested.
 
Vassar College is searching for a film scholar to serve as our Luce
Teaching Fellow for 1995-96. Funded by the Luce Program on Cinema, Literacy
and Culture, this one-year postdoctoral fellowship is designed to allow
young scholars to advance their research while teaching a reduced load of
undergraduate courses in the film program. Duties include introductory
courses in film history and theory, upper-level courses depending upon
areas of specialization, advising and mentoring of students, organizing
a speakers' series. Qualifications: candidates should have a PhD in hand
before September 1995; teaching experience; and a commitment to undergraduate
liberal arts education. In addition to a solid background in narrative film
history and theory, strength in one or more of the following areas is
desired: television, third world cinema or experimental cinema. Sallary:
 Competitive, faculty housing provided. Applications will be reviewed beginning

The English Department, University of Florida, is searching for an assistant
professor, tenure track, with a specialty in video production and with
scholarly training in film theory and history. The appointment starts
11 August 1995. The department is looking for someone to teach video production
in the context of an English department whose well-developed Film Studies
Program has particular strength in history and theory. The teaching load is
two-two. Teaching experience is required, and publications, including
video work, are desired. A secondary specialization in feminist/gender
theory or computer applications would make a strong addition. All applications

University of Regina. Department of Film and Video. Applications are
invited for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Applicants will normally have a PhD or equivalent in Film Studies. Teaching
experience and scholarly publications are required. Practical experience in
Film and Video making would be an asset. The department offers both the
BFA in Film and Video production and the BA and BA Honors in FIlm Studies
and is currently the only university program east of Vancouver and West
of Tornonto to do so. The department is working with other university units
to develop interdisciplinary responses to art, culture and technology. As
a program situated within the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Department of
Film and Video approaches its subject matter as a means of artistic
and cultural expression. By focusing ont he creative processes, technology
and the theoretical and critical analysis of Film and Video texts, the
Department offers an environment which integrates the Studies and Production
