If we're getting into the topic of movies about people who want to be
in the movies, there's two early films I can think of:
 
        Movie Crazy (1932) -- one of Harold Lloyd's best sound films
        Ella Cinders (1926) -- a Colleen Moore silent that's a take-off
                on Cinderella
