Regarding Joey Schwartz's advertisement for the University of Toronto:

For those folks who really want information about film schools in Canada,
I suggest you take Mr. Schwartz's oh-so-helpful "facts" and rankings with a
jumbo grain of salt.

There are SEVERAL other universities and colleges in Canada that offer
various film production and theory/criticism/history programs, but as
these schools are outside of central Canada, Mr. Schwartz has probably never
heard of them.

Naturally, Mr. Schwartz is entitled to his opinion about the quality of
various schools and programs, but his opinion stretches to falsehood when
he claims that there are only two places in English Canada to
get a masters degree in film production. There may be several others,
but one more that I know of is at the University of British Columbia in
Vancouver. Mr Schwartz will perhaps be interested to hear that recent
graduates of the UBC production course include Mina Shum (whose _Double
Happiness_ has been a festival hit -- even in Toronto!), and John
Pozer, a recent winner of the Claude Jutra award.

Since I haven't any concrete information about programs, etc., I would
suggest that interested students contact almost any university in Canada
about film studies/production. The University of Manitoba has an
undergrad film studies degree, and there is a program at the University
of Saskatchewan, for instance. And lots more.
