Change,indeed, takes much more than awareness. But awareness is the
spark that leads to real change. Because people may be aware does not mean anyth
   ing will happen, I agree. But I would rather have an aware public than a
population floating around in an ignorant bliss. Because I have the power and
ability to hopefully change people's awareness,  I do.
I also try my best to help change things. If one hundred people see a film
and 99 do nothing and 1 has a true learning experience that may lead that
person to doing something great--the film has served a purpose.
Films are never masterbatory when social change is in mind--regardless of
whether or not a change comes about.
