An interesting discovery re. trailers.  At the fleapit where I work weekends we
we're running one for "Anna Karenina" which carries both an stereo variable
area analogue and a digital optical (Dolby SR-D) track.  The digital track, I
discovered by accident (we don't normally run the ad & trailer reel through the
Dolby head as most of it is in ordinary SR) contains a different mix from the
analogue - the v/o has an English accent rather than an American one, and there
is dialogue there which is covered by music in the digital version.  Any ideas
as to what the thinking behind this may be?  The Tchaikovsky music and the
rumbling subwoofer effects are in both, so I doubt if could simply be that the
producers think that analogue SR is of an insufficient quality to play it
properly.
