As noted in my original post, I was indeed seeking a "different
perspective" on contemporary independent cinema. But I was also making a
larger comment about the decline of this list. Recommending that we buy,
find or request your book without summarizing your arguments seems odd in
the context of a discussion group like this one. I assume that you maintain
some rights to your own writings, and that you have a digital archive of
previously published work. You've taken the time to post a response, why
not go one step further? Rather than suggesting that we "might want to see"
your essay, grab it off your hard drive, excerpt the relevant portions, and
send it to SCREEN-L. I don't want to own your book and doubt that I'll make
the time to track it down in the library, but I would like to see how, or
whether, "The Myth of Independent Film" engages with the issues at hand.
